New York Comic-con Recap
What a whirlwind week in New York City. We had so many great author signings and events taking place at our New York Comic-con booth. With lines forming down the aisles for each one, it was definitely a successful event for us.
Here's a quick recap of our events with some photographs of our authors, many whom traveled to be there to promote their books.
Friday, October 12
Fringe fans lined up to meet Tara Bennett and Paul Terry as they signed NYCC exclusive posters for the 2013 release, Fringe: September's Notebook.
Michael Bush signed copies of his book, The King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Sitting in front of the display case featuring four of Michael Jackson's costumes along with the famous glove, there was an amazing turn out of fans who were dressed up in their favorite Michael Jackson inspired costumes.
Saturday, October 13
Scott Campbell stopped by our booth to sign copies of Amazing Everything and sold prints of some of his illustrations. It was great to see people recognizing him as he has become quite the name (and face) among the video game / art world thanks to his work with Double Fine Productions.
Michael Jackson fans were shocked to see the famous glove on display in our booth when Michael Bush arrived to sign copies of The King of Style for those attending NYCC. Known for attendees in costumes, this was a fun mix of pop culture and fashion for all to enjoy.
Sunday, October 14
Brandon T. Snider hopped off the airplane in time to join us on our last day at New York Comic-con, signing copies of The Dark Knight Manual and entertaining the crowd.

International Kissing Day
Today is International Kissing Day - just in time for summer weddings, summer romance and summer movies.
Found inside our book, The Kiss: A Celebration, are images from history, film, pop culture, famous artworks and iconic faces and films which have touched so many.
What is the most iconic kiss of all time?
There are many different answer to this question, but no doubt, the numerous responses - and photographs - can be found inside this gift book for lovers of any age or generation.
A kiss is never just a kiss. Sometimes it signals triumph; other times, anguish. But even when kissing is merely a polite gesture, there's a certain inherent intimacy. The Kiss celebrates this meaningful act in its most iconic forms: Warhol's provocative lip lock, Picasso's Cubist caress, the climactic rainstorm embrace in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and, of course, the heart-wrenching farewell between Bogart and Bergman in Casablanca. Culled from history, cinema, and popular media, this collection evokes passion, romance, intrigue, and desire, making it the perfect celebration for anyone who's ever been in love ... or simply in lust!

The Hanna-Barbera Treasury
Discover never-before-seen art, memorabilia and mementos from the golden age of cartoons. Here, for the first time, is a showcase presentation of the best of the art from the legendary Hanna-Barbera studio. The Hanna-Barbera Treasury celebrates the legacy of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera through more than five decades of rare drawings, storyboards, concept art, and memorabilia from studio archives and private collections.
Since first joining forces as a pair of young animators, Hanna and Barbera won seven Academy Awards at MGM and still, decades later, their best-loved characters are household names. Today, it is not uncommon for three generations of families to share the joy of Hanna-Barbera's creations.

Shadowline: The Art of Iain McCaig
"What is Shadowline? It is the place where things meet: light and shadows, hope and despair, good and evil. It is, to me, the most interesting place to hunt for stories." So begins this stunningly realized and beautifully rendered new work from master storyteller and artist Iain McCaig.

From Father to Son
Father's Day is coming up pretty quickly and we couldn't think of a more appropriate book to highlight than Real Love: The Drawings for Sean by John Lennon.
The colorful art found inside this collection were images created by John with and for his son, Sean, during the five short years they had together.
We're honored to be able to share this book with the world. Fathers and sons bond in many different ways, but art and images that last forever in a book like this is a true gift.

John & Yoko
John Lennon married Yoko Ono on March 20th, 1969.
Yoko Ono shares many of these photographs on her Facebook page and she's getting ready to release a collection of John's artwork published by Insight Editions this fall in John Lennon, The Collected Artwork.
Real Love: Drawings for Sean was released in 2011.
In November 1980, on the eve of John Lennon's untimely death,
photographer Allan Tannenbaum had unique and total access to John and
Yoko, who were emerging from five years of seclusion and avoiding the
media. As one of the few photographers with whom John and Yoko were
close, Tannenbaum was privileged to be able to capture many intimate
moments between the two. John cherished these images of Yoko and was
moved by their beauty and grace. The result is this moving book of photography about John and Yoko together, in the last weeks of his life.
"The photos are beautiful and give one a sense of intimacy of John and Yoko's life together." - David P. Reader
